"summary": "Apple is planning to expand its smart home offerings with a range of devices developed in partnership with LG Electronics. These devices will include a doorbell, thermostat, smart deadbolt lock, indoor security camera, outdoor security camera, and floodlight camera. According to Bloomberg, Apple and LG worked together to develop the accessories, but the products will carry the LG brand.\n\nLG will handle manufacturing and product support for the devices, and has reportedly sought regulatory approval in recent weeks. This partnership allows Apple to quickly expand its ecosystem without shouldering the full cost and complexity of producing and supporting a wide range of accessories.\n\nThe new smart home products are expected to complement Apple's upcoming smart home hub, which is set to be introduced on October 13, along with a new Apple TV and updated HomePod mini.",
