"account": "Cristiano Ronaldo has stated he is not retiring from international football but insists he deserves punishment for abandoning Portugal during their Nations League camp. The 41-year-old captain walked out after being an unused substitute against Norway, then discovering he would not start against Denmark. Ronaldo, who holds world records for goals scored in Portugal appearances, has expressed his desire to be held accountable for his actions. In a lengthy statement, he insisted the Portuguese Football Federation must assess the consequences of his behavior and determine an appropriate punishment. Ronaldo apologized, but he believes actions have consequences. Portugal manager Jorge Jesus hinted that the door remains open for Ronaldo to return to the national team once his suspension ends, provided he is physically fit and willing to play and score goals.",
