"account": "Mumbai, October 6, 2026: The ticket checking staff of Western Railway’s Mumbai Division will soon be equipped with specially designed jackets that feature pockets for electronic devices. This pilot initiative involves the distribution of 30 jackets to personnel involved in ticket checking. The jackets come with specialized compartments for hand-held terminals (HHTs), electronic fare machines (EFTs), and voice amplifiers. Additionally, the jackets include a headset system that enables staff to manage their equipment without the need to constantly hold or relocate it.\n\nThe primary objective behind these new jackets is to enhance the convenience of ticket checking, especially during intensive operations. By allowing staff to securely carry their essential equipment while keeping their hands free for other tasks, the design aims to improve efficiency and comfort. This initiative is particularly beneficial during high-intensity scenarios such as Fortress Checks, AC local ticket checking drives, special checking campaigns, and peak-hour duties, where ticket checkers need to handle a high volume of passengers and equipment concurrently.\n\nMoreover, the jackets are intended to provide better comfort and organizational benefits during extended shifts. If the pilot proves successful, the railway may decide to expand the use of these jackets to all ticket checking staff in the Mumbai Division.
