"account": "President Donald Trump suggested during a political rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, that Iran could potentially target major US cities like Los Angeles or San Diego with military action. His remarks, which came as early voting began in California for the November midterm elections, drew swift condemnation from California's Democratic leaders and some fellow Republicans. The White House dismissed criticism of the comment, stating that Trump was referencing potential threats posed by a nuclear Iran. California Governor Gavin Newsom denounced Trump as \"deranged and dangerous,\" while Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called Trump's statements \"dangerous and could potentially compromise our safety.\" Despite the backlash, the president's Republican Party sees an opportunity to win more races in California, including the gubernatorial election.",
