"account": "Steven Spielberg will once again serve as executive producer for the next installment in the Transformers franchise, according to recent reports. The original \"Transformers\" gang is set to reunite, with Michael Bay reportedly in early talks to return as director for the upcoming film, titled \"Transformers 8.\" Paramount Pictures Co-Chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg met with Spielberg as part of their initial studio meetings following the Skydance merger in August 2025. Spielberg and Bay first collaborated on the 2007 film that launched the franchise, and they have since worked together on four more installments, with Bay directing the first five films. Transformers 8 is currently in development, with Jason Fuchs set to write the script. However, Shia LaBeouf will not reprise his role from previous films. Mark Vahradian, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, and Hasbro are also among the producers. The untitled new movie will be set in modern times and is expected to gross over $440 million worldwide, following the success of \"Transformers: Rise of the Beasts\" from 2023.",
