"account": "Apple TV has announced a new comedy series titled \"The Choir,\" which will reunite stars Ruth Jones and James Corden from the popular UK sitcom \"Gavin & Stacey.\" The duo's collaboration was confirmed last year after Apple struck a deal with them for a new comedy series. The official release date for \"The Choir\" is set for 2027.\n\nRuth Jones and James Corden gained fame through \"Gavin & Stacey,\" a massively successful UK sitcom whose final episode in 2024 held the record for the most-watched scripted show in the UK. The series synopsis for \"The Choir\" describes the story of Ben (played by Corden) and Lisa (played by Jones), brother and sister who haven't seen each other for several years. Ben has been living abroad, while Lisa maintains her life in their small English town. When life takes a challenging turn, Ben is compelled to return to a life he never wanted, in a town he dislikes and a family he's estranged from. The unlikely healing of their relationship comes through a local struggling choir and the ensemble cast who perform together each week.\n\nThe show features guest appearances by Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy, and Jim Broadbent, along with a strong supporting cast. Apple promotes \"The Choir\" as a comedic drama centered around themes of \"family, friendship, love, and music.\" The series aims to evoke a similar heartwarming atmosphere as \"Gavin & Stacey.\" Fans of the original show or those interested in seeing Jones and Corden reunite are encouraged to check out \"The Choir.\" The Apple TV subscription costs $14.99 per month, or it can be included in the Apple One bundle at a discounted rate.
