"account": "TORONTO - Former federal Conservative minister Chris Alexander has announced his withdrawal from the mayoral race for Toronto, as advance voting kicks off in the city's municipal election. The decision comes after recent polls indicated Alexander does not have a clear path to victory. Alexander, a seasoned politician and diplomat, stated he will not endorse any other mayoral candidate. Recent polls have placed him far behind current council member Brad Bradford and current mayor Olivia Chow, who has been leading the campaign since its inception. Alexander served as MP for Ajax–Pickering since 2011 and held the position of federal immigration minister from 2013 to 2015. Prior to his political career, he worked as a diplomat, including serving as Canada's first resident ambassador to Afghanistan from 2003.",
