"summary": "The Senate has postponed its National Security Summit, which was scheduled for October 12 and 13. According to Punch Nigeria, the postponement was due to the death of 25 officers and seven crew members in a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State.\n\nThe Leader of the Senate and Chairman of the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on the National Security Summit, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, announced the postponement in a statement. He stated that the decision was made in honour of the victims and in line with the three-day national mourning declared by President Bola Tinubu.\n\nThe summit was intended to bring together key stakeholders to discuss the country's persistent security challenges and develop measures to strengthen protection of lives and property. The ad-hoc committee had completed preparations for the summit after concluding zonal public hearings, as per Punch Nigeria. BusinessDay Nigeria also reported the postponement, but did not provide additional details.",
