"account": "In October 2023, a 15-year-old Singaporean student sought help from her 35-year-old teacher, a married woman with a four-year-old child. The teacher, who had previously engaged in sexual encounters with the student, was later sentenced to nine years in jail for the alleged offenses. The victim, who had a history of family problems and mental health issues, was initially admitted to the Institute of Mental Health for self-harm and suicidal thoughts.\n\nIn April 2023, the girl reached out to her teacher for support, sharing her struggles at home. The relationship grew, leading to a series of sexual encounters and the exchange of at least three sexually explicit audio recordings. The teacher pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including indecent acts and sexual penetration.\n\nSeven other charges, including exchanging sexually explicit audio recordings, were considered during sentencing. The girl reported the teacher's alleged sexual assaults to her CPS-appointed safety adult in January 2024. She was diagnosed with adjustment disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. The teacher's lawyer argued for rehabilitation, citing her redeeming qualities. The judge acknowledged the teacher's positive attributes but emphasized the importance of applying them for the benefit of her family and community.",
