"summary": "The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union (KMPDU) has demanded urgent protection for healthcare workers following the confirmation of Kenya's first imported case of Bundibugyo Ebola virus disease. KMPDU Secretary-General Dr Davji Bhimji Atellah emphasized that healthcare workers must be immediately identified, medically monitored, and provided with psychological support and appropriate follow-up. The union is also calling for rigorous contact tracing, transparent information dissemination, and the provision of specialised personal protective equipment, infection-prevention protocols, and training to health facilities handling suspected cases.",
