"account": "Foreign Nigerian citizens can register and take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in ten cities across nine countries. The countries include the United Kingdom, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, The Gambia, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, and Burkina Faso. These locations are abided by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which organizes the examination. Registration fees amount to $30 or its local currency equivalent. A total of 379 candidates registered for the 2026 UTME in these foreign centers. The planned opening of a new centre in Ottawa, Canada, for the 2027 UTME has sparked discussions online, with some questioning the costs and necessity of such an addition. However, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, explained that the initiative aims to provide better access for Nigerians residing in Canada and other North American regions. The Board is exploring the Canadian centre to meet the demand from Nigerians abroad, focusing on collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission instead of constructing a permanent facility.",
