"account": "In a contentious statement before a Nebraska political rally, US President Donald Trump suggested that Iran might target major American cities like Los Angeles or San Diego, drawing swift criticism from California's Democratic leaders and some Republicans. The remarks, made at a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, came as Trump discussed wartime sacrifices and the need for victory, stating that the war's costs, including rising prices for fuel and fertilizer, are \"a small price to pay\" for world safety. He added that Iran could \"take out\" a U.S. city, emphasizing that the conflict would be short-lived. California Governor Gavin Newsom denounced Trump as \"deranged and dangerous,\" while Democratic mayors of Los Angeles and San Diego denounced the president's comments as dangerous and potentially compromising city safety.",
