"account": "I played Switch Sports Resort, Nintendo's upcoming $50 game for the Switch 2, which arrived on October 22. I tested nine of the 12 games in an early preview in New York. Though I knew what to expect, I couldn't help but love it all again as much as I did. Nintendo's motion gaming has a whole doorway that still feels untapped outside of the Nex Playground console and VR games. Nintendo dipped into motion games time to time, emerging like a phoenix at odd moments, such as the original Wii Sports Resort in 2009 and Ring Fit Adventure, which CNET's Bridget Carey reminded me needs a comeback for Switch 2. Switch Sports Resort is Nintendo's most complete motion party package, featuring more activities (12 compared to eight on Switch Sports) and a large island chain similar to the old Pilotwings. It boasts new modes like skateboarding, using the Joy-Con in a mouse-based mode to slide over surfaces, and thumb wrestling, which feels like a simple thumb-based Punch-Out. Sports modes focus on competition, and the single-player tournament mode pits you against NPC players in tiered matches. The same-room multiplayer makes the game shine. I'm excited about trying this game at home and wonder if Nintendo will introduce new motion games soon.",
