"account": "On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that Pakistan has served as a vital intermediary between the United States and Iran, urging an end to the ongoing Middle East conflict. He praised Islamabad's mediation efforts, which aimed to bring an end to the war, between the two nations known for their strained relations.\n\nGuterres highlighted Pakistan's role in brokering a June accord that temporarily halted the fighting between the US and Iran. He outlined a roadmap for future agreements, including reopening the vital Strait of Hormuz waterway and negotiating with Tehran on its nuclear program. The UN chief expressed his hope that Pakistan's efforts will continue to be successful and lead to lasting peace in the region.\n\nAddressing the media in Islamabad, Guterres delivered a strong message to all parties involved in the conflict: \"end the conflict, return to diplomacy, and fully restore navigational rights and freedoms in accordance with international law.\" The war, initiated by the US and Israel on February 28th, resulted in the deaths of Iran's leadership and forced the country to cease all nuclear-related activities. This confrontation led to a surge in violence throughout the Middle East, as Tehran retaliated by targeting U.S. allies in the Gulf, causing global energy prices to soar.",
