"account": "On Tuesday, UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres praised Pakistan's role as a key mediator between the US and Iran, urging an end to the ongoing war in the Middle East. Guterres commended Pakistan's efforts, stating that the country's mediation demonstrated its trust and was even respected by nations at odds with each other. In June, Pakistan brokered an accord that led to a temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran, paving the way for further agreements on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and negotiating with Tehran over its nuclear program.\n\nGuterres expressed hope that Pakistan's efforts would continue, ultimately bringing peace to the Middle East. Addressing reporters in Islamabad, he delivered a strong message to all parties involved: \"End the conflict, return to diplomacy, and fully restore navigational rights and freedoms in accordance with international law.\" The conflict began on February 28 when the US and Israel launched a war against Iran, resulting in the deaths of Iranian leadership and the imposition of demands for Tehran to cease all nuclear-related activities. The war escalated violence in the Middle East, with Tehran retaliating against Washington's Gulf allies and causing a sharp increase in global energy prices.",
