"account": "The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has altered the logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, on its official website, now showcasing the party's blue-background \"Two Fingers Up\" logo. This modification adheres to a September 8, 2026 ruling from the Federal High Court in Abuja, which mandated INEC to recognize and incorporate the updated logo in all elections overseen by the commission. The controversy erupted after NDC claimed that INEC had initially uploaded the revised logo but subsequently removed it and returned to the previous version used when the party was first registered. Consequently, NDC sought legal action, requesting a court order compelling INEC to acknowledge and utilize the new logo. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ruled in favor of NDC, stating that the modified design, approved at the party's inaugural National Executive Council meeting on March 25, 2026, should be acknowledged as the legitimate logo of the organization. In response to the court's decision, the NDC instructed its candidates and members to employ the revised logo on all promotional materials, such as banners.",
