"summary": "Hong Kong will be represented by 15 athletes at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, marking the first time an Olympic event is being hosted on the African continent. The Games, which run later this month, will feature around 2,700 athletes from over 200 countries and regions competing in 25 sports across 153 medal events, alongside 10 showcase sports. Hong Kong's athletes will participate in 12 sports, including athletics, swimming, badminton, boxing, cycling, breakdancing, fencing, rowing, table tennis, triathlon, windsurfing, and wushu. Fencer Harris Ho, who recently won silver with the men’s foil team at the Nagoya Asian Games, expressed his excitement and aspiration to surpass his own performance. Wushu, which will be included as an official medal event for the first time, is a significant achievement for 15-year-old Poon Hao-ran, who won two golds and a silver at the World Taijiquan Championships in May.",
