"account": "Rome, October 6 — World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner has abruptly ended his 2026 season due to a knee injury, according to the Italian tennis star. \"Me, together with the doctors, have decided that I need a course of treatment for my knee, which means that the 2026 season is officially over,\" Sinner stated in a video shared on social media. The 25-year-old's announcement arrives just over a month before he was scheduled to defend his title at the ATP Finals in Turin. Sinner had concluded the previous two seasons on a high, claiming victory in Turin and securing \"so many beautiful feelings and emotions,\" he remarked. However, he recognized that \"this year is going to be way different.\" But for now, Sinner must prioritize his long-term career. Despite an impressive season marred by injuries, Sinner has triumphed in Wimbledon and five Masters 1000 events, securing wins in all six tournaments he entered this year. His 2026 season boasts an astounding 94 percent winning record, surpassing his achievement from any other season in his career, including his two Grand Slam wins and the ATP Finals in the prior two seasons. According to a statement from Sinner's management team, he will undergo treatment for knee inflammation to facilitate his recovery and commence preparations for the upcoming 2027 season.",
