Currently sitting in second place in the Race to Dubai rankings, McIlroy is determined to close the gap on leader Patrick Reed, who is also in the world-class field for the event. McIlroy recently shared second place at the BMW PGA Championship, just ahead of Reed, after a closing 68 at Wentworth Club. The World No 2 is returning to Dubai after defending his Masters title earlier this year, making him only the fourth back-to-back champion after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods. McIlroy expressed his excitement about returning to the Earth Course, where he has had \"some great days\" in the past. He hopes to match Montgomerie's record and finish the season on a high note.",
