"account": "Nairobi, Kenya - President William Ruto extended his congratulations to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on his re-election for a second term, expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral ties between Kenya and Ethiopia. In a statement on Tuesday, Ruto described the new mandate granted to Abiy by Ethiopia’s House of People’s Representatives as a vote of confidence in his leadership and vision for Ethiopia. \"Congratulations my brother, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, on your re-election to lead Ethiopia for a second term,\" Ruto stated. He added that the re-election reflected confidence in Abiy’s leadership and transformation agenda. The Kenyan President wished Abiy continued success as he leads Ethiopia through its development and transformation program. Ruto also expressed optimism about the potential for Kenya and Ethiopia to further enhance their bilateral cooperation, benefiting their peoples, the region, and the global community. Ethiopia's re-election comes at a crucial time, as the country grapples with security and political challenges, including heightened tensions in the northern Tigray region. Despite these challenges, Kenya and Ethiopia have a history of close economic, diplomatic, and security ties, collaborating on regional stability, trade, and cross-border issues. Ruto's message to Abiy signals Kenya's commitment to maintaining engagement with Addis Ababa as Ethiopia embarks on its transformation agenda under Abiy's renewed mandate.",
