"summary": "The disciplinary proceedings against suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya have been postponed to October 12. According to The Citizen, Sibiya's legal team filed an urgent Labour Court application to stop the proceedings, but the South African Police Service confirmed that the disciplinary hearing was postponed to allow Sibiya to consult with his legal representatives.\n\nSibiya is accused of corruption and misconduct, as investigated by the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. The Citizen also reported allegations that Sibiya was linked to Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, an alleged criminal cartel figure.\n\nThe disciplinary hearing and the Labour Court proceedings are separate matters and have been running in parallel, said Brigadier Athlenda Mathen, Police spokesperson, as per The Citizen.",
