"account": "On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the chief of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP), Humayun Kabir, was detained in Rejinagar, West Bengal, following a verbal altercation with the police. The incident occurred at the AJUP party office where voting for the Assembly byelection was taking place. Mr. Kabir had been criticizing the police since morning over their deployment near his residence and at polling booths. He was detained immediately after casting his vote with his family. The police informed him that he could not remain present at the office on polling day. A heated argument ensued between Kabir and the police, who accused him of being a \"dalali\" (middleman) and \"vote chori\" (vote thief). Kabir responded by saying, \"Do not work as their middleman. Do not do vote chori. You are doing work for the thieves. I will not go home.\" He was subsequently taken to the Rejinagar Police Station.",
