"account": "The British government is reportedly considering imposing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicle (EV) imports, according to a report by The Times. Business Minister Jonathan Reynolds is said to be finalising a package of potential tariffs in response to concerns that Chinese manufacturers are flooding the British market with subsidised cars. While Reuters could not immediately verify the report, a government spokesman stated that no tariffs have been imposed on Chinese EVs. The spokesman added that the UK is prepared to match the EU's 45% levy on Chinese electric cars to protect national interests and avoid the negative impact of EU proposals. The EU's \"Made in Europe\" policy aims to reduce reliance on Chinese components by prioritising European-made goods, causing concern among British automakers about supply chains and market access. Burnham, the UK's former business secretary, has stated his intention to argue for Britain to be treated as a trusted partner under EU rules, warning that excluding the UK could harm its car industry.",
