"account": "The Zamfara State House of Assembly has approved a resolution in support of the proposed constitutional amendment for the establishment of state police in Nigeria, according to Channels TV. Speaker Isma'il Moriki made the announcement during a press conference, stating that the resolution came after the National Assembly transmitted the proposed amendments to state legislatures for consideration. Moriki expressed that the establishment of state police would bolster efforts to address security challenges in Zamfara, complementing efforts by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal. The development comes amid persistent security issues, with communities facing attacks and abductions by armed groups. Moriki rejected claims that recent political developments involving some lawmakers had impacted the Assembly's operations, asserting that the House remains \"stable, functional and fully engaged\" in legislative activities. He also addressed the defection of lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress, clarifying that their political decisions were separate from disciplinary proceedings instituted against them. The Assembly's commitment to the rule of law and legislative integrity was reaffirmed by Moriki.",
