"account": "Daniil Medvedev was abruptly disqualified from the China Open after striking a spectator with a ball during his semifinal match against Novak Djokovic. In the other semifinal, Australia's Alex de Minaur advanced to the final following Poland's Hubert Hurkacz's injury retirement. De Minaur will square off against Djokovic in the China Open final on Tuesday night. Djokovic, who was serving for the match at 7-5, 5-3, hit a backhand that ricocheted off the advertising boards and struck a spectator in the front row. The spectator suffered an eye injury and was assisted off the court by stadium staff. Medvedev, while acknowledging the incident, claimed it was unintentional and expressed regret. Djokovic, who has faced similar disqualification in the US Open, empathized with Medvedev. De Minaur aims to become the first person to defeat Djokovic in 34 China Open matches with a 1-3 head-to-head record. De Minaur's victory would see him rise to ninth in the race to secure a spot in the ATP Finals, which begin in November. The world number one, who pulled out of Shanghai due to a knee issue, will face De Minaur in the final.",
