"account": "The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to host the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Ottawa, Canada, starting in 2027. This decision was disclosed through the board's official social media channels following a visit by their Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, to the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa. Professor Aina explained that the new centre will enable eligible Nigerians residing in Canada and other North American regions to take the UTME without the need to travel to Nigeria specifically for the exam. The board emphasized that this initiative would make it easier for Nigerians in the diaspora to participate in the UTME without the hassle of international travel. According to JAMB, the proposed centre aligns with their broader mission of globalizing Nigerian tertiary education. They believe that the centre will strengthen the link between Nigerians living abroad and the Nigerian education system, while also offering a platform to promote Nigerian tertiary education on an international scale. For those in Canada, JAMB stated, \"The UTME is coming closer to home.\"",
