"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday that Nigeria's National Register of Voters has reached over 103 million following the completion of the three-phase Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, revealed this during a strategic workshop for editors in Abuja, stating that the CVR exercise produced 10,772,421 new registrations, which have been subject to verification by the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS). The voter register was projected to surpass 100 million in August and September, with the INEC Chairman announcing that the nationwide collection of Permanent Voters' Cards would commence on October 9, 2026. INEC has also acquired 57,000 new Bimodal Voter Accreditation System devices to strengthen the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.",
