"account": "Each week, the Lansing State Journal presents readers with the opportunity to vote for the boys high school athlete of the week. Voting remains open until noon on Wednesday, October 7. After receiving numerous nominations, we have narrowed down the contenders to a select few.\n\nOne of the favorites is Ezekiel Baltierra, a senior from Alma who specializes in cross country. This week, Baltierra made quite the impression by setting a new season-best time of 15:17.6 at the Shepherd Bluejay Invite elite race on Saturday, October 3. Additionally, he finished the race in third place.\n\nAnother strong contender is Michael Goodemoot, a senior on the Lakewood football team. Goodemoot led the Vikings to victory in a 43-20 win against Sexton, contributing significantly with 265 rushing yards and scoring five touchdowns. On top of that, he also managed to make a crucial interception on defense, helping Lakewood improve their record to 5-1.\n\nCameron Spedoske, a junior from Laingsburg, is another athlete who has caught our attention. Spedoske has been in impressive form, scoring five goals over his last three games. This impressive streak helped put the Wolfpack in a prime position to compete for a CMAC title. He scored two goals in a crucial 5-1 victory over Dansville on October 1.",
