"account": "On Monday, a 15-year-old French student sustained a severe injury while participating in nationwide protests demanding improved classroom conditions. The teenager, who was located in Lens, northern France, lost his hand after attempting to pick up a police grenade. The grenade, fired by riot police, detonated in the student's hand, causing significant harm. Protesters across the country have been staging demonstrations in response to grievances such as teacher absences, overcrowded timetables, and substandard school facilities. The unrest began in late September, preceding the upcoming 2027 presidential elections. Authorities have launched investigations into alleged police brutality, with the French Human Rights League accusing security forces of using disproportionate methods against minors involved in the protests. Over 400 high schools were partially or fully closed on Monday, with a third of the 468 schools in the Paris region expected to be closed. Demonstrations continue, with some students returning to classrooms while others maintain their protests outside.",
