"account": "Ghanaian musician Lasmid has urged for greater appreciation of DJs and their crucial role in promoting Ghanaian music. In a post on X, Lasmid lamented that DJs' contribution is often overlooked despite being priceless. \"Ghanaian DJs deserve their flowers,\" he wrote, reflecting on the significant influence DJs had on his life and music. Lasmid expressed concern that people have grown accustomed to taking DJs' contributions for granted. He called for a conversation to celebrate their efforts, emphasizing the need to acknowledge the value DJs bring to Ghanaian music. Lasmid's plea arrives amidst debates on the diminishing importance of traditional media and the rise of new media platforms and influencers in music promotion. Against this backdrop, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, organized by Merqury Republic, has been recognizing DJs' contributions over the past decade.",
