"account": "In France, a 15-year-old student suffered a severe injury while participating in nationwide protests over classroom conditions. The teenager lost a hand after picking up a police grenade during protests that began on September 17 in a Paris suburb. The unrest, which has disrupted lessons at hundreds of schools, has seen students block entrances and engage in various actions outside their institutions. Authorities reported the incident occurred in Lens, northern France. The student's injury is believed to have been caused by a sting-ball grenade, which exploded in his hand. Since late September, the protests have grown, with students raising concerns about teacher absences, overcrowded timetables, dilapidated classrooms, and buildings not suited for rising temperatures. The French government has attempted to address the grievances, while accusing hard-left activists of hijacking the movement. The government has also accused security forces of using excessive force against the protesters, many of whom are legally minors.",
