"account": "Torrential rain triggered severe flooding in Catalonia, northeastern Spain, resulting in two deaths and one person reported missing. The storms began on Saturday, October 3, prompting Catalan authorities to issue a red weather alert and urging residents to stay indoors. By Sunday, October 4, two fatalities were confirmed – one man in Tordera, north of Barcelona, and another in Montornès del Vallès. Emergency services searched for a missing individual in Pineda de Mar after they were reportedly swept away by a stream. The torrential rain flooded homes, submerged vehicles, disrupted transport, and forced hundreds of rescue operations. Landslides collapsed walls in Tordera, while flights were cancelled or delayed at Barcelona airport and local train services were disrupted. Emergency crews conducted 2,440 operations, including 226 rescue services, and the regional emergency telephone service received 8,151 calls, mostly concerning flooding, structural risks, rescues, and traffic incidents. As the storm passed, Catalonia's regional government warned residents to remain cautious as further intense rainfall was expected in parts of the region.",
