"account": "The IFP's 2026 local election manifesto emphasizes fixing basic municipal services, such as water, electricity, roads, sanitation, streetlights, waste management, and housing. However, the manifesto lacks measurable targets, timelines, budgets, and detailed reform plans. The IFP proposes extensive additional support for traditional leaders, including infrastructure maintenance, attention to roads, potholes, and streetlights. The party's approach focuses on preventative maintenance, repairing leaks, upgrading water-treatment systems, and empowering traditional leaders.",
"summary": "The IFP manifesto focuses heavily on fixing basic municipal services – water, electricity, roads, sanitation, streetlights, waste and housing – while proposing greater support and powers for traditional leaders. However, it lacks measurable targets, timelines, budgets and detailed reform plans, reflecting the basic failures of local government rather than offering a transformative vision.",
