"account": "Former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, has urged the newly elected national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to focus on unity within the party and address the needs of young people and women. Speaking on JoyFM’s SMS on October 5th, he highlighted the importance of harmonising the various parts of the party’s constituencies, encompassing geographical and other groups. Oquaye stressed that the new leadership must coordinate more closely among the NPP’s different groups, emphasizing that unity goes beyond merging geographical constituencies. He also underscored the priority of catering to the needs of young people and women, indicating that practical plans must be put in place to support these groups. Oquaye's remarks followed a discussion about the challenges the new executives should tackle, based on the recommendations of the committee he chaired to review the NPP’s loss in the 2024 general election. He noted that the outgoing leadership will convene a meeting with all pertinent figures to implement the committee’s subsequent steps.",
