"account": "Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, the late First Lady of Malaysia, has passed away, leaving behind a nation in mourning. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister, frequently visited Langkawi with Dr Siti Hasmah during his tenure, from 1981 to 2003. Langkawi, an adored island by the couple, became a symbol of their love and dedication. Dr Mahathir's monthly visits to Langkawi, often accompanied by Dr Siti Hasmah, showcased his devotion and commitment to the development of the island. Over the years, Dr Mahathir transformed Langkawi into a duty-free enclave, introduced the Le Tour de Langkawi race, the Langkawi International Aerospace series, and the Langkawi International Dialogue with African leaders. The couple also prioritized the needs of the local residents, ensuring they had a say in the island's progress. Dr Siti Hasmah, known for her grace and humor, was a constant presence in Dr Mahathir's life. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on those who knew her. The impact of Dr Siti Hasmah's passing is undeniable, as the nation mourns the loss of a beloved figure. Although she has left us, her memories and the privilege of knowing her personally will forever be cherished. Langkawi will never be the same without her presence, and each time one travels the island's roads, the warmth of her smile will remain etched in memory.",
