"summary": "Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince and brother of King Charles, is taking legal action against Thames Valley Police over search warrants related to his February arrest. He was arrested on February 19, his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office due to his links to late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.\n\nThe arrest and subsequent searches of his homes, including his current residence on the Sandringham royal estate and his former Royal Lodge residence in Windsor, are being challenged by Mountbatten-Windsor. According to the South China Morning Post, his legal team wants to examine whether the search warrants granted by a judge at London's Old Bailey court were lawful.\n\nThis legal challenge is reportedly the first time a member of Britain's royal family has challenged the lawfulness of criminal proceedings against them since the trial of Charles I in 1649. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied all wrongdoing and was released on the day of his arrest while remaining under investigation.",
