"summary": "A 19-year-old woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of her nine-year-old neighbor in KwaZulu-Natal. The Umzimkhulu Regional Court found her guilty of calling the child into her room, instructing her to undress, and sexually assaulting her. This conviction is among several lengthy sentences handed down by the court, following investigations by the Kokstad Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. Additionally, a convicted serial rapist, Tenes Hassan, 33, was sentenced to six terms of life imprisonment for raping six women in Umzimkhulu between January and December 2022. Police connected Hassan to all six cases using DNA evidence and also sentenced him to an additional eight years for housebreaking.",
