"account": "The Nobel Prize awards ceremony begins in Stockholm on Monday with the medicine prize being presented at the Karolinska Institute. Three scientists were honored last year for their discoveries related to the immune system's ability to distinguish between harmful germs and the body's own cells. The work of Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi focused on a crucial pathway known as peripheral immune tolerance. This pathway is vital in maintaining the balance of the immune system and is essential in understanding autoimmune diseases like Type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus. The Nobel Prize in medicine for 2022 will be followed by awards in physics, chemistry, literature, peace, and economics. The total prize money for 2022 is 12 million Swedish kronor, equivalent to approximately $1.2 million, regardless of whether it is awarded to an individual, a small group of laureates, or an organization.",
