"account": "Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has announced a substantial reward of Rs 7.5 million for cricketer Washington Sundar, in recognition of his pivotal role in helping India secure a gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games. The announcement was made on Saturday, alongside an enthusiastic congratulatory message to Sundar for his contribution to the Indian team that triumphed over Pakistan in the men’s cricket final.\n\nVijay's gesture underscores the importance of Sundar's performance, which played a crucial part in India's victory. The Indian team emerged victorious by 19 runs, successfully defending their Asian Games gold medal and securing the men’s cricket title for a record second consecutive time. Pakistan's response, led by Hasan Nawaz with 96 off 51 balls, was ultimately insufficient as India posted a formidable total of 211 for six in their 20 overs.\n\nWashington Sundar's impact extended beyond the final match, as he also contributed significantly in the semifinal against Sri Lanka. In that game, he bowled three overs, claimed one wicket, and delivered a maiden over, showcasing his all-round prowess. The victory over Pakistan not only extended India's dominance over the arch-rivals but also solidified their position at the top of the head-to-head record, which now stands at 6-0 since the 2024 T20 World Cup.\n\nVijay's announcement comes as a boost for young cricketers, emphasizing that Sundar’s achievement will inspire and energize the next generation of players.
