"summary": "President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his greetings and appreciation to teachers across Pakistan and around the world on World Teachers' Day, which was marked on 5 October 2026. According to the President, teachers play a central role in every education system, imparting knowledge, nurturing curiosity, shaping character, and helping young people develop the skills and values needed to become responsible and productive members of society.\n\nThe President's message also highlighted the significance of this year's World Teachers' Day, which marks the 60th anniversary of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. The theme of this year's observance, “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures,” draws attention to the need to recognise the importance of teachers and provide them with professional support and opportunities.\n\nThe President emphasised that strengthening the teaching profession is essential to improving the quality of education and expanding opportunities for children and young people in Pakistan. This was reported by Business Recorder. Daily Times also covered the President's message, but did not include these additional details.",
