"account": "James Gunn, the writer-director behind the \"Superman\" sequel \"Man of Tomorrow,\" has revealed that he is already working on his next film while waiting for the assembly. Gunn posted on Threads that he \"had to do something while I was waiting for the assembly!!\" The director wrapped principal photography on the \"Superman\" sequel in August and is now deep into the post-production process. The sequel, featuring David Corenswet as the lead and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, is set to release on July 9. Adria Arjona, Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisondo, Edi Gathegi, and Aaron Pierre are also returning for the film. Gunn, co-chairmen of DC Studios with Peter Safran, is leading a new \"cinematic universe\" featuring DC characters across film and television. The success of \"Man of Tomorrow\" will likely determine the direction of DC Studios under its new owners, Warner Bros. Discovery. Following the \"Superman\" sequel's $618 million global box office success, the DC Universe’s next film, \"Supergirl,\" flopped with $126 million worldwide. Upcoming is the horror film \"Clayface,\" set to debut on October 23.",
