Edgecombe, a second-year NBA player, finished the previous season with notable statistics, averaging 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while taking on a leadership role. The third overall pick in the 2025 draft impressed Gansey with his vocal leadership and high-IQ basketball abilities.\n\nGansey praised Edgecombe's fearless attitude and willingness to communicate, noting that he is a super competitor who speaks his mind. The president highlighted Edgecombe's elite talent and his ability to make crucial plays, such as blocking shots and grabbing loose balls. He emphasized that Edgecombe's confidence and competitive spirit are key factors in his success and leadership on the team.\n\nWith a roster including stars like Tyrese Maxey, LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and Joel Embiid, Edgecombe's voice and production remain vital to the Sixers' performance.
