"account": "DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has dismissed speculation that Supernatural star Jensen Ackles is set to play Batman in the DC cinematic universe. The rumor gained traction when Ackles followed Gunn on Instagram, a fan-favorite pick for the role due to his passion for Batman and previous Batman appearances in animated projects. Gunn, responding on Threads, confirmed he hadn't interacted with Ackles since a brief encounter 20 years ago when Ackles was dating a mutual friend. He stated he had no plans to cast Ackles as Batman. Despite Ackles' suitability, including his Batman suit and vocal abilities, Gunn's comments put any hopes of the actor taking on the role on hold for now. The DCU currently lacks a Batman, with Warner Bros. and Paramount continuing their development processes. Robert Pattinson is confirmed to return as Batman in The Batman Part 2, while other projects like The Batman Part 2 and Superman are set to premiere in 2027.",
