"account": "German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kyiv on October 4 in an unannounced visit. He made his way to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NANU) building, the site of a Russian strike on September 28. Merz, alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressed the ongoing attacks in Ukraine, calling for an end to the barbaric assaults on the civilian population. The German chancellor expressed readiness to negotiate a cessation of the war. Shortly after their meeting, an air raid alert was issued in Kyiv due to Russian jet-powered drones. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Merz would engage in discussions with Zelenskyy on various topics, including the European and international agenda. Alongside humanitarian aid, it was announced that Germany would provide Ukraine with 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in military support and 350 million euros ($394 million) to rebuild the energy sector.",
