"summary": "The Hindu - Sci-Tech reports that Rathi Med Speciality Hospital in Chennai has launched a new meniscus allograft transplantation (MAT) programme as part of the Chennai Knee Course 2026. The programme, inaugurated by IIT-Madras Director V. Kamakoti and Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Darez Ahamed, IAS, involves using a healthy meniscus from selected patients undergoing total knee replacement as a fresh graft for those whose damaged meniscus cannot be repaired or reconstructed. The hospital has obtained a licence from the Tamil Nadu government to perform these procedures until December 2030. Led by Director and Consultant Surgeon N.
