"account": "Australian counterterrorism authorities are probing the links of a co-pilot from Oman to Australia following his involvement in a terror attempt on a flydubai flight. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the co-pilot, identified as Hamam Al-Hamami, attacked the captain and attempted to hijack the flight FZ1073 en route from Dubai to Israel. The UAE prosecutor general described the incident as a terrorist attack, while Israeli officials confirmed that Al-Hamami is from Oman but have not disclosed his identity. The flight was bound for Tel Aviv when Al-Hamami took control of the aircraft, causing it to plummet 16,000 feet in just 30 seconds before being stabilized and landing safely at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia. Passengers and crew subdued the co-pilot, who is currently in UAE custody and has not been formally charged. Reports suggest that Al-Hamami may have studied at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, around a decade ago. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alleged that Al-Hamami had undergone radical Islamist indoctrination, though the government of Australia has not commented on this claim.",
