"account": "On Sunday, Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota injured his knee during a game against the Indianapolis Colts. Mariota went to the locker room following a sack in the first quarter to have his injury assessed. Washington had already lost starter Jayden Daniels to an elbow injury, making third-stringer Athan Kaliakmanis the backup quarterback. Mariota was listed as questionable to return, and he did not rejoin the team by halftime, when Indianapolis was leading 10-6. During a crucial third-down play, Mariota was sacked at the Indianapolis 11-yard line by Adetomiwa Adebawore and Laiatu Latu, causing the Commanders to fall behind to 3-0. Kaliakmanis, who was drafted by the Commanders in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL draft, completed six of 12 passes for 33 yards by halftime. The Commanders selected Kaliakmanis from Rutgers University, and his family is Greek-American, as reflected in his tattoos and his choice of a saint named after. Kaliakmanis is affectionately known as \"The Greek Rifle.\"",
