"account": "The Yemeni Houthi group has halted the main supply road connecting the city of Taiz to the interim capital Aden, according to military sources. The ongoing fighting in the area led to the Houthi advance, which followed days of intense battles. The Houthi takeover of the al-Safiya area resulted in them controlling the main road and seizing the police station. Three sources with the Yemeni military confirmed Houthi control over the region and the supply route, effectively surrounding Taiz. The road linking Taiz to Aden remains blocked, despite the city itself being under government control and besieged from multiple sides by Houthi fighters. Research fellow Farea Al-Muslimi from the Chatham House think-tank stated that the Houthis have achieved their military objective of isolating Taiz from Aden, even though they haven't fully taken over the city. The recent events come as Saudi-backed strikes in Yemen's northern governorates, reportedly causing two casualties, were reported by the Al-Masirah TV channel. The strikes occurred a day after Yemen's government claimed its forces targeted Houthi positions nationwide, including in the capital Sana'a, the Saada governorate, and the group's strongholds near Taiz.",
