"summary": "The UK Green Party has voted to declare Zionism a form of racism. According to Middle East Eye, 1,022 members voted for the motion, while 813 voted against it. The party also backed a single democratic Palestinian state with equal rights for all ethnic and religious groups.\n\nThe move has been met with controversy, with some party leaders and Jewish members warning that it risks alienating Jewish supporters and fueling division, Haaretz reports. Green MPs Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay also criticised the motion, unlike Co-Deputy Leader Mothin Ali, who strongly supported it.\n\nMothin Ali described Zionism as an \"ethno-nationalist state\" resulting in ethnic cleansing, based on a belief in the superiority of one group of people over another. The Green Party is the first major UK party to recognise Zionism as a form of racism and to back a single Palestinian state rather than a two-state solution.",
