"account": "An initiative by the Torrevieja council helped 180 international residents improve their Spanish language skills through free courses, enabling them to better integrate into the community. The Department for International Residents, in collaboration with Academia Be Magic, delivered 200 hours of intensive language training in October 2025 and January 2026. Classes were tailored to various proficiency levels and focused on practical situations like shopping, healthcare access, administrative procedures, and socializing. Participants also learned about Spanish culture and customs, as well as the specifics of Torrevieja and its surroundings.\n\nThe council highlighted that Torrevieja's diverse population, made up of over 120 nationalities, necessitated such a program. By enhancing their Spanish abilities, residents can reduce communication barriers, gain more independence, and forge stronger bonds with neighbors of different backgrounds. Participants hailed from numerous countries, including the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Morocco, Brazil, and the United States.\n\nFunding for the program came from the Alicante Provincial Council, receiving €1,999.76 under its 2026 municipal activity funding aimed at supporting international residents. This effort not only aids newcomers in navigating life in Torrevieja but also fosters a more cohesive, multicultural community.",
